TRAVELOGUE 2016

Travelogue 2016

Here are some of my travelogue collections from the very start until the mid of the year,

1. WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Wildlife Sanctuary, Olango Island

- located in Olango Island, Lapu-lapu City. This heaven-like environment is home to millions of crustaceans, fish, worms, mollusks, shellfish, starfish, and other creatures that become nutritious and healthy food for seabirds visiting the sanctuary. This sanctuary also provides hiding places for marine creatures. It is amazing to know that birds from as far as Japan, Northern China, and Siberia fly here to refuel before continuing their flight south.

My Rate: 4 / 5

2. MARINE SANCTUARY

- located also in Olango Island, Lapu-lapu City. Walking down the 500-meter bamboo boardwalk cuts across a large patch of healthy mangroves. These rich mangroves provide protection and shelter for baby fish and other marine creatures before they mature and head out to sea. Also, they act as protection from coastline erosion. Comes the best part when you have to get swayed with the floating bamboo raft connected to a stilted observation deck in the end.

My Rate: 4 / 5

3. OSMENA PEAK

- located in Mantalongon, Dalaguete, Cebu. Known as the highest peak of Cebu, Osmeña Peak gives the impression of being formed from rocks that have survived through time. Once you reach the very top, you get a 360-degree view of that includes the southwestern coastline of Cebu, and you even see the province of Negros Oriental. Best tip: it is best to climb the peak in the first half of the year since the rainy season is from June to October. The peak and mountain ranges become wet and slippery and it is too foggy during the rainy season. (see my post about 'STEP TO THE TOP')

My Rate: 4 / 5

4. BORACAY

- located off the northwest corner of Panay Island in the province of Aklan. The pristine white beach, fine powdery white sand, friendly people, exuberant vibes, good food and night life is why you keep on revisiting. Boracay' sunset is a spectacle that you shouldn't missed. A perfect time for taking photos with less crowd from the background and have strong color contrast. Boracay is not just about the sea and the sand but also because of its many restaurants and bars along the beach. Get around the island and go try sailing. (see my post about '#summerender in Boracay')

My Rate: 5 / 5

5. OSLOB

Do you want to check out some Spanish-era structures, a majestic falls, and of course, swam with the whale sharks to make the most out of the day? Well, visit to Oslob, Cebu.

Oslob is just located in the southern part of Cebu and be amaze with the attractions brought to you by this place. This includes the ever Immaculate Conception Parish Church which was built way back from the 19th century, the old Baluarte (Spanish name for watchtower), the Cuartel which located right in front of the church. Also, never miss out the eco-friendly attractions of the Sumilon Bluewater Island, the breath-taking cascade of crystal waters from the Tumalog falls and the opportunity to swim with the gentle giants of Oslob which are the whale sharks. (see my post about '6 ATTRACTIONS TO VISIT IN OSLOB')

My Rate: 5 / 5

6. THE FORREST CAMP

- located in an elevated town next to Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental called “Valencia.” The surrounding areas features a lot of nature tourists spots such as lakes, hot and cold springs, mountain trekking including the Casarroro water falls. This place is truly a great way to escape from the hustles and bustles of big City life. Indeed, a place for wholesome family picnics. (see my post about The Forest Camp)

My Rate: 4.5 / 5
